THE HUMAN RIGHTS ORGANIZATIONS ENDEAVOR TO PREVENT THE EXECUTION OF THE ARABS FROM AHVAZ

The Human Rights Organizations have called for the help of the Iranian people and the Iranian authorities about the eight individuals who have Ahvaz Arab origins.

In the call to suspend the verdict about the individuals who have Arabian origins and named as Faleh Abdollah El Mansuri (age 60), Abdul Resul Ali Mezraa (56), Said Ude Saki (35), Ahmad Mermezi (35), Zamil Bavi (29), Abdul Hussein Haribi (34), Hossein Esakire (33) and Abdul Reza Senevati (34),  it is declared that the Iranian people should write letters to various authorities, especially to the Religious Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei , the head of Iranian Judiciary Branch Ayatollah Khashimi Shahroudi, United Nations High Commissioner Louis Arbour and European Union Foreign Relations and Security High Representative Javier Solana, to ask for the discharging of the prisoners.

These eight individuals from Ahvaz who were charged with capital punishment, were tried for the crimes as “declaring war against Allah”, “trying to disturb the order and the security of the country” and “giving Sunnite names to their children (!)”. These crimes require capital punishment in Iran.

Journalist Emadaddin Baghi, who is the head of the Committee for the Rights of the Political Prisoners and who was arrested last month, made individual statements on this issue in which he underlined the fact that the accusations against prisoners were brought by the help of the State itself”. The experts call attention to this statement and point out that the extremist conservative government has accelerated its efforts in order to punish the significant names of the reformist movement as well as the ethnic community of the country with funny justifications and endeavored to exclude the Iranian people from the political activities by opening arbitrary investigations.
