In terms of projects to aimed increase export and stretching out to foreign countries; “Iran Export 2007” fair was organized last November in Turkmenistan/Ashgabat which housed around a hundred stands exhibiting illumination and energy systems, agricultural machinery and automotive industry products. Iranian First Vice President Parviz Davoodi also participated to the opening ceremony of this fair, which was regarded highly important by the Iranian administration.

According to statements of the officials, 208 tons of product have been exported from customs valued at 265 million dollars in the last seven months. Among the products exported to 19 different countries across the world are petrochemical products, foodstuffs, dried food, leather bags and shoes as well as various fresh fruits.

During past year, there has been major progress in the communication sector of Iran. There has been considerable investment in especially the mobile communication sector. The part covering 1 billion US Dollars of these investments have been realized by foreign investors. During 2007, number of mobiles in the country reached 26 million.
