The ones, who have carefully
watched the speeches of Khamenei during the recent weeks,
can not have missed the facial expressions of the ones
beside him. As it is known, Ahmedinejad’s failure to govern
the state is bringing the country to the brink of political,
economic and social crisis, therefore he becomes the bull’s
eye. The harshest attack of criticism came from the head of
Assembly of Experts and the Expediency Discernment Council
Hashemi Rafsanjani.
The first and most serious
response to these criticisms came from the leader Khamenei.
Khamenei gathered everybody around himself in the meeting
which was held on the plea of the 15th day of the
month Sha’ban (the birthday of Imam Zaman). The real
objective was “to back the president up who became
the bull’s eye”.
The discontent on the ministers’
in the meeting, and even Ahmedinejad’s face were being felt.
This chilly atmosphere had mirrored on everybody who was
present in the meeting and what would be next word to come
out of the mouths of the leaders were being awaited
curiously. Everybody’s heads were ahead and they seemed as
if they had fallen into a trap. The most interesting facial
expression was that of the governor of the Central Bank
Mazahari who became famous after “the control of the income
obtained from oil had been taken from Ahmedinejad and passed
to the leader”. It recalled the impertinence and toady
“eunuchs and treasurers” as in the old times.
The crowds gathered around
Khamenei were the ones who once took up versatile roles
within the government and then were dismissed. These
individuals were actually aware of how they had been fooled.
However, they were also aware that they had no chance but to
lean in front of the king. Within this milieu Sheikh al Reis
Hashemi Rafsanjani were the only one who could get away from
going under the yoke and did not participated in the
meeting. Furthermore, “Ghazi al Ghozat” (the Judge of
judges) Ayetollah Shahroudi and Khatemi did also not
participate in the meeting.
Ahmedinejad and Golpayegani,
the palace responsible (special clerical
officer), were sitting on the right and left respectively of
the king Khamenei in a meaningful way. Mahdi Karrubi, who
was preoccupied with stirring the “Vahdet Malli”
front formed in the axis of Khatemei, was in the final rows.
However, he suddenly stood up from his place and by passing
to the lounge of Asadollah Lajavardi, he sat next to Nategh
Nouri. In his declaration to the journalists during the
session, Karrubi stated that “they love Khatemi, but he will
run for president in the elections”. Following his
statements Kerrubi underlined that this meeting conducted by
the religious leader is an important indication.
During the last few weeks, also
Nategh Nouri has gone back and forth to the palace of the
leader several times. However, after this session he
understood towards which side the leader were inclined just
like Karrubi. Nategh Nouri, who is one of the former
speakers of the assembly, has expressed in a statement to
the journalists that “I had recommended reputable apparent
names theoretically to the leader for the presidency and he
had approved. However it seems that this theory is a
stillborn one because each politician is asking for the fire
only to cook their own meal!”
The leader set forth such a
meaningless and contradictory attitude in the session he
held that even Ahmedinejad had problems in understanding
this supportive attitude. Everybody who knows Iranian
history well and follows “these drama like developments”
witnesses that the 2500 year old Shahdom culture is still
alive. As it is the case in many well-known examples Ali
Khamaney, more accurately “the king” throws his
friends and companions away from the stage after using them
in different plays. The ones, who are able to survive in
this play full of plots and conspiracy, are the ones who are
cunning enough not to embark on politics. What have the
religious leaders been up to? Is what happened a tactic to
be applied when needed?
The leader thinks that he is
trying to save the country from an irrevocable crisis. In
his latest speeches Rafsanjani has insistently emphasized
that “Ahmedinejad Administration has brought the country to
the edge of a disaster. However the leader is ignoring the
truth and calling for support to Ahmedinejad from the
public. As if history repeats itself…The king of Ghajar
Agha Mohammad Khan came face to face with the Russians in
the Tbilisi siege. The historians state that “the night of
the day when the Russian and Iranian armies were expected to
come face to face around Tbilisi , the king of Ghajar Agha
Mohammad Khan brooded over the war gazing at the fire of the
brazier in the middle of the tent till morning. The Russian
army had an obvious superiority over the Iranian army and
Agha Khan was feeling very depressed as he did not know how
to put up with the bad outcome to occur when he was
defeated. The king thought over silently until the morning…
At dawn he desperately stood up from his place. Having
kicked the brazier, he raised his hands to the sky and
prayed; “My god! Take either my life or that of this
women!..(Katrin, the Russian queen)
Now it is morning and news
arrived pleased the Iranian army. The Russian army was
withdrawing. A few hours later the death news of Katrin
arrived! I reminded this historical reality “not that the
prayers of Agha Mohammad Khan were accepted but with respect
to the outcome the king had reached while thinking carefully
at night.” Either Agha Khan or Katrin were supposed to
die so as not to see this defeat.
May be now is time for Rafsanjani
(he is often likened to Agha Mohammad Khan as he is
beardless) raise his hands to the sky and pray…
