DANGEROUS KHORDAD MONTHS IN IRAN
Iran witnessed political
fluctuations, social demonstrations, arrests
and deaths in the second half
of Khordad months in the past as well.
Now it is those inauspicious
Khordad months again. They have been
accompanied by persistent and
perpetual strife….The protagonists of
the strife are Khamanei,
Ahmadinejad and Rahim Mashai as usual.
Ahmadinejad’s forcing the
Intelligence Minister to resign under the
direction of Rahim Mashai and
Khamanei’s preventing this attempt have
increased the tension
further. At the point reached while Khamanei
enjoys the support of the
Revolutionary Guard Corps and mullahs,
Ahmadinejad hopes to receive
the help of “Aberrant Trend”. However,
the proponents of the
religious leader who are already prepared to
sacrifice the president are
purging the proponents of Ahmadinejad one
by one through the
allegations of corruption, sorcery, spying,
contraventions of the
revolution and the Velayat-e-Faqih. It is
expected that one day it will
be Ahmadinejad’s turn. In the meantime
it is noteworthy that Mashai
maintains his silence against the severe
criticisms directed at him.
A short while ago, an enquiry
request submitted against the government
in the parliament was
accepted with 176 votes. The subject of the
inquiry is the cash
assistance made to nine million people under the
name of “Justice Shares” by
the government prior to the June 2009
presidential elections. It is
emphasized that those aids were made so
as to “buy votes” and they
were illegal. On the other hand, the
parliament deemed
Ahmadinejad’s assuming the position of acting
Minister of Oil as a
contravention of the Constitution and accepted
with 165 votes a commission
report which refers the issue to the
judiciary. The winning of
only 40 votes by the proponents of
Ahmadinejad in the
preliminary election held for the chairmanship
council of the parliament and
all those developments show that the
government has lost its
support within the parliament. By the way, it
is among the received
information that Khamanei is planning to corner
Ahmadinejad by replacing
Mohammed Reza Rahimi with Mohammed Firuzandeh
as the first deputy of the
president…
Ahmadinejad and his team are
not idling away in the face of what is
happening. It is reported
that the team had made preparations months
before so as to intervene in
the elections, buy votes and reduce the
authority of the Council of
the Guardians of Constitution in the
parliamentary elections. Also
it is stated that Ahmadinejad could gain
the public support by
revealing some illegal activities of Khamanei.
Through all those strife, the
ranks of some organizations and
individuals in Iran have
become overtly clear. The legitimacy of
Khamanei has also started to
be questioned continuously. It is a
matter of time for the public
which has become extremely bored with
economic and political
problems to take to the squares by making use
of this
historic opportunity…
